Travel to Vienna, Austria
Vienna is the capital of Austria in Europe. It is the largest city in the country. The capital is studded with old remains of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Situated along the River Danube, the city is known all over the world for its cafes, confectionary, and coffee. You are sure to fall in love with this city.
For centuries the gateway between West and East Europe, it was the natural nucleus of the once sprawling Habsburg Empire, and to this day remains Austria's most important commercial and cultural hub. Vienna continues to attract visitors with its many great historic sights, as well as for its busy program of events and entertainment. With an unmistakably cosmopolitan atmosphere, it retains a distinctive charm and flair, an effect accentuated by its fine old architecture, its famous horse-cabs (Fiaker).
The city today is a beguiling mix of old and new, perhaps best illustrated by the innovative MuseumsQuartier cultural district. Here the courtyard of the old Spanish riding stables, featuring Vienna’s largest baroque facade, is now home to contemporary museum architecture.
For most, Vienna is classical music, imperial history and monumental architecture, for others it is forever linked with The Third Man and its haunting Harry Lime Theme.
This is a city of art and thought.
