Travel to Tenerife, Spain

A host of accommodation choices

Whatever your preference for accommodation during your stay, you'll find the perfect options in Tenerife. Luxury hotels abound here, with properties such as the elegant Hotel Botanico, whose name is inspired by the acres of manicured tropical gardens that surround it. For those wanting a distinctly grown-up holiday, the adult-only surrounds of RedLevel at Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora offer an ideal retreat. For families too, choices are plentiful. The Guanchito Kids' Club at Sheraton La Caleta Resort is exemplary of the fantastic children's provision you'll find across the island.

For those who prefer the extra space and privacy of a luxury villa holiday, there are some gorgeous resort villas too, including the superlative Villas at Bahia Del Duque.

Of course, luxury resorts like The Ritz-Carlton, Abama offer accommodation to serve any taste. Within the main resort complex - 'The Citadel' - choices range from the plush surrounds of Deluxe Rooms to the achingly luxurious Presidential Suite. What's more, there is also an adult-only enclave and an impressive selection of villas.

A celebrity holiday favourite

Tenerife is a destination of choice with many A-listers, for its exclusive hotels and beautiful beaches. Penelope Cruz is a particular fan of the island and a repeat guest at The Ritz-Carlton, Abama. But the elite clientele doesn't stop there, from Bill Clinton to Stephen Hawking; the list of visitors to these beautiful shores contains some very big names!

Natural wonders

Surely one of the greatest draws to Tenerife is its varied and dramatic natural beauty. The lush, fertile north of the island stands in utter contrast to the other-worldly volcanic landscape of the south. In the midst of it all stands Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak and the third largest volcano in the world (don't worry, it's now dormant!). Holidaymakers here can choose a room with views of this stunning mountain, or the more adventurous can trek all the way to its summit!

Family-friendly holidays

Tenerife is simple dripping in attractions that will please children of all ages, and adults too! The island is famed for its vast water parks and theme parks, with Siam Park being the newest and largest of all. Daredevils will love the adrenaline rush from rides like the Tower of Power slide, which sends you plummeting 90 feet down into the pool below!

The quality of kids' clubs here is outstanding and many top hotels also offer an in-room babysitting service, meaning parents can enjoy the well-earned interlude of a romantic meal while on their luxury family holiday.

A destination for all seasons

Tenerife's year-round warmth is a major reason for its continual popularity. Whether it's a few days of sun in deep winter, or a two-week family holiday in August, you'll find temperatures pleasant, with the Atlantic breeze meaning there's less chance of becoming too hot and bothered.

Short-haul sunshine

With flight times of just over four hours from the UK, Tenerife barely takes longer to get to than many destinations in southern and eastern Europe. So, you can travel to a place with a distinctly exotic feel - and a climate to match - for just a few days if you so wish. On our ITC company-wide trip, we only stayed for one night, and it was well worth the travel time!

Great for gastronomes

Foodies will be spoilt for choice on a luxury Tenerife holiday. The Ritz-Carlton, Abama itself has two Michelin-starred restaurants; Kabuki and M.B. The authentic Spanish fare at La Venta Restaurant, Sheraton La Caleta, is also well worth a try.

Golfer's choice

The year-round sunshine and undulating landscapes of Tenerife make it perfect for a luxury golfing holiday. Many resorts boast their own challenging courses, with reduced green fees for guests. Ask our Travel Specialists about the fantastic golf holiday packages we can offer, too. Whenever you choose to travel, our Concierge team will be happy to arrange all the little details - from clubs to caddies - for you.

Rejuvenating stays

For those who seek relaxation that goes deeper than a dip in the pool, Tenerife has many excellent spas to ease your mind and delight the senses. The Nammu Spa at Vincci Selección La Plantación del Suris a stellar example, with its three hydrotherapy circuits, one in a 'cave' built using volcanic rock. The special ambience of this Tenerife spa has to be experienced to be believed.

As night falls...

Nature lovers and hopeless romantics will love the dramatic sunsets and sensational night skies. Tenerife is officially a ‘Starlight Tourist Destination’, with its location way out in the Atlantic Ocean meaning cloudless evenings and minimal light pollution. Needless to say, astronomers will not be disappointed by the stars here.

Of course, there's always the bright lights of hotspots like Las Americas to illuminate your evening too!
