Travel to Abersoch
The lovely harbour village of Abersoch is set on Cardigan Bay at the very south of the scenic Llyn Peninsula.
This bustling seaside resort is excellent for families, with great sandy beaches and a traditional feel. More recently it has become particularly popular as a watersports destination, especially for sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing and wakeborading. The popular surfing beach of Hells Mouth is just to the west, once the perilious site of many shipwrecks. Wakestock in an annual event in the town combining Europe's largest wakeboarding competition with a music festival featuring top artists.
Just across Cardigan Bay are the craggy (and privately owned) Saint Tudwal's Islands, with their beautiful scenery and large seal population proving a draw with visitors. Cruises around the coast and islands depart from nearby Pwllheli.
