Graduate from the Gower College Swansea
ower College Swansea was originally called Swansea College and was founded in 1825. In 1971 it moved from the original building in the Swansea Docklands to Tycoch, where there is still a campus today. As of August 2010 Swansea College became Gower College Swansea and merged with Gorseinon College.
Courses and teaching
The college offers a handful of full time higher education programmes: Health and Social Care, Advanced Therapies and Spa Management and Sports Science. It also has a number of A Level subjects on offer including Accounting, Archaeology and Dance.
All undergraduate courses at Gower cost £7,500 per year for full time students. The college runs a number of Postgraduate and Professional Programmes, where students can get a Master's degree starting from £2,950 per year.
There are many student friendly pubs and clubs in Swansea, which has a thriving music scene. It is also a beautiful seaside town, with a large student population and seasonal influx of holiday makers.
Gower College Swansea has two main sites: Tycoch and Gorseinon. There is also the arts campus at Llwyn y Bryn, the city centre base at the Kingsway Centre and the commercial arm GCS Training, which is based in Llansamlet. Accommodation The college doesn't have its own halls of residence, but privately owned properties can be rented in the area from £60 per week.
Gower College Swansea offers comprehensive library and IT services at all of its major campus locations. The Llwyn y Bryn arts school has ceramic studios, TV production and recording studios and darkrooms. The college also provides professionally graded technical workshops.
The Tycoch campus offers a sports and gym facility with squash courts, weight and cardio equipment and a multi-purpose sports hall.
